Favourite Electrolysis Tweezers

Best Tweezers For Electrolysis

My most loathsome task is sharpening tweezers. It’s the drudge work of being an electrologist. It’s an hour or more of my life per week that I want to reclaim.

Cue Tweezerman and their LIFETIME GUARANTEE AND FREE SHARPENING SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! Why I didn’t think of this earlier I don’t know. I’ve taken advantage of the free sharpening service with my own tweezers but didn’t think of Tweezerman as tools for a professional electrologist.

Wow, was I ever wrong. They are the best tweezers I’ve ever used. I know I touted the Peer Vigor OC tweezers several months ago but the Tweezermans perform far better for electrolysis than either the OC or 3C point tweezers which tend to be the standard for professional electrolysis treatments. The Tweezermans were a bit difficult to adjust to for my first few treatments and I thought I had just wasted hundreds of dollars (I bought 30 pairs), but after a few hours working with my new tweezers I am so thrilled with them.

The tips are probably double the size of the Peer Vigors that I’m used to but at least when I drop them they aren’t warped beyond repair and even if they are I can receive a coupon for 50% off a new pair. At one time Tweezerman replaced damaged tips but I think since they moved production from Germany to India that service was discontinued. (Which, quite frankly, sucks because I had replaced some tips in the past and I’m all about reduce and reuse!)

I’ve been using my Tweezermans for about a month now and I’ve settled on my favourite model the Splintertweeze  (which has since been discontinued)(. The fine tips are dainty enough to grasp just the one hair I’ve treated yet sturdy enough that they are not ruined if I bang them or drop them. The Tweezerman Splintertweeze comes in silver only although Tweezerman does make colourful point tip tweezers in their standard design.

I’ve had no problem autoclaving the Tweezerman tweezers although I wonder whether the lacquer finish on my lovely pink, red and purple ones will wear off in time. The lacquer has made it through 2 rounds of autoclaving thus far so I think I will be enjoying the pretty colours for some time yet.

Some people say that the quality has gone down since production was moved to India but I don’t think so. There is a definite difference in the tweezers, the steel they use seems to be a bit different than my old German-made pair but they still work the same in my opinion. (Update Oct. 2016: After working with Tweezermans for almost a year now I think that the quality is not as good as when they were German made. About 10% of my stock of tweezers were not properly aligned right out of the package!)

Another advantage of the Tweezerman tweezers is that they come in pretty colours – pink, red, black, silver and purple to name a few! It makes working fun because honestly sometimes I get bored of seeing silver through the microscope. Pink is treat for my eyes.

Grab some Tweezerman tweezers to use for electrolysis, you will not be sorry. The lifetime guarantee will make certain of it.
