Black Skin And Electrolysis

Many black men and women can benefit from electrolysis treatment for the face because getting rid of coarse, curly facial hair will improve the overall look of the skin. The inflammation and acne that often accompany hair growth improve greatly once the hair is removed.

The image below show what is very common among my black clients – coarse hair growth which produces pigmentation issues, bumps and general discomfort in the inflamed follicles.

There is hyperpigmentation evident in all the follicles that produce a hair and the bumps are ingrown hairs or pimples that occur when the ends of the clipped hair curl around and poke back into the skin. This clears up once the hair is gone. A C-shaped hair follicle is unique to black hair/skin and cannot be treated using thermolysis.
(I didn’t complete this beard removal but have since completed a number of black female clients with similar patterns of hair growth due to pcos, laser stimulation or just plain bad luck. Several wrote reviews.)
