PCOS and Menopausal Hair Growth are the most common reasons women seek facial electrolysis
It seems we are hormone laden creatures. Any woman of any age who suffers from any other type of hormonal hair growth can benefit from electrolysis.
Electrolysis is not like laser, there are no conditions on its effectiveness.
This means that electrolysis, when performed correctly, works on every hair and skin type regardless of your personal history of hair growth or previous hair removal methods. Nothing matters when you are in the hands of a skilled electrologist except that you stop tweezing, waxing and threading.
A beard caused by PCOS or menopausal hair growth will not grow back once treated with electrolysis. This is because the treated hair follicle is dead and can never sprout another hair. Normal hormonal fluctuations that accompany pregnancy and aging can cause the odd hair here and there but your beard will never return.
PCOS and menopausal hair growth is a cyclical thing. No treated follicle will re-grow a hair but most women will sprout a hair or two every time there is a hormonal fluctuation (pregnancy, the start of menopause, post-menopause, post-post-menopause). Once we remove the worst of the growth it’s only the odd hair that pops up 1-2 times every few years. You will never return to your original fuzz face.
