Electrolysis Treatment Time

Electrolysis Treatment Time

Electrolysis treatment time can vary based on a number of variables but the majority of my work is on ladies’ faces and there are some general guidelines. Below the electrolysis treatment time for some recent clients whose hair growth pattern and results are very typical.

Electrolysis Treatment Time – coarse chin hair on 20-something female.

This client had very coarse and dense hair growth only on her chin. The hair was a combination of dark and white hairs and she had previously tried laser and it had no effect except to make the problem worse. She had been trimming the hairs daily and when I met her for the first time there were several hundred very, very coarse hairs on her chin. Our first appointment lasted an hour and I could not clear all the hairs on her chin, there were just too many.

This client has come faithfully for one hour every 2-3 weeks since May of this year and now there are very few coarse hairs left on her chin. In a one hour appointment the noticeable hair is treated in 20-25 minutes whereas 5 months ago an hour wasn’t enough for me to treat all the noticeable hair on her chin. It took 4 appointments for this client to tell me how happy she was with the results. The coarse hairs have gone and now we are working with the finer and darker secondary growth.

I have seen her for a total of 8 hours over 5 months and I expect to see her for slightly less time over the next 5 months because the hair will be even less dense in another month or two. At the one year mark I expect my client will be able to go more than a month or two without a treatment before she sees a hair poking through the skin.

Electrolysis Treatment Time – bikini line on 30 year old female.

I wrote a blog post about this client because her bikini line was a hot mess when she came to me last winter! My client had previously been treated weekly by another “electrologist” downtown who charged her $70/hr to essentially tweeze her bikini area and turn it into an area full of ingrown hairs.(Dozens of ingrown hairs are a sure sign of an improperly treated follicle.)

I’ve done 15-20 hours over 5 months and her bikini area is now almost completely clear. She has no ingrowns and the hair growth is 1/4 of what it was 6 months ago.

When electrolysis is performed properly it doesn’t take long to see results.
